Unzip & drag DefaultBrowserGuard.app to Applications folder

Launch app and grant permissions

macOS may block the app on first launch because it is not signed by Apple.

  1. The message "DefaultBrowserGuard.app" cannot be opened appears. Click "Done".
  2. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. Under the "Security" section, it says: "DefaultBrowserGuard.app was blocked". Click "Open Anyway".
  3. In the popup "Open DefaultBrowserGuard.app?" click "Open Anyway".

Alternative via Terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DefaultBrowserGuard.app
